See editor’s note below for an update.

I’ve never been good with sharing big news. Usually I ramble on for hours about nonsense details or pack in too much exposition. (“It all began back on an October afternoon in 1982, when I was born into this world…”) But for your benefit, I’m going to fight against my nature to word vomit paragraphs onto the screen and just rip off the band-aid.

Next month, Patrick and I will be celebrating four years as residents of Annapolis. Then, later this year, we will be packing our bags for a new beer-soaked adventure – we’re moving to the city of Baltimore.

“But, Liz. What does this mean for Naptown Pint?”

Well, not much, actually.

I had toyed with the idea of changing the name to something like “Charm City Pint,” but it didn’t feel right. Then I realized that the name didn’t really need to change, even though we’re leaving.

First, Annapolis is where I fell in love with Maryland and, more importantly, Maryland beer. Second, much of my passion is grounded in the intersection of beer and politics, with Annapolis often being the epicenter. Finally, I’ll still be in Annapolis. A lot. My job is here, as are so many of our friends.

So, for those of you hoping you were finally getting rid of me, I’m sorry for letting you down. You’ll still find me nesting on Annapolis bar stools and raising hell about the Maryland General Assembly.

To Baltimore, I apologize in advance for my antics, and I’ll see you soon.

I’d say more, but I think I’ll save the sap for our actual moving day.

Editor’s Note, May 18, 2017:

For reasons I can’t get into at the moment, this move has been put on hold temporarily. Let’s just say that it seems Annapolis is not quite ready to let me go yet. We’ll see what the future holds!
